There are plenty of people around, but inviting someone to do something ordinary can still feel like a big step. InCampus was imagined during our time at Tongji University in China: a simple way to turn “anyone up for coffee?” into a real shared moment.
Built for everyday participation. Campus based, low pressure, and intentionally small scale.
The core experience follows the way a spontaneous plan actually happens.

Some activities are open; others let the host review requests. The choice is clear before you commit.
Create an activity, set its time and place, and manage who is coming.
A course project developed from user stories and architecture diagrams into a working alpha demo.
Onboarding, profiles, activities and discovery are organized around a campus. The first demo context is Tongji's Jiading Campus.
Hosts can manage requests and activity status. Students can view their activities, withdraw requests and leave joined plans.
Community rules, reports, blocking and moderation were included in the MVP model. Consent controls shape what campus admins can see.
Notifications follow joins, requests, decisions and cancellations. The demo stores in-app records; push delivery remains a prototype stub.
A React Native mobile app meets a TypeScript backend with clear module boundaries and PostgreSQL persistence. Requirements, data models, tests and a repeatable demo sit alongside the code.
Francesco Nativitati brought the idea into the Software Engineering project and helped coordinate decisions across the work. Together with Matteo, Jacopo and YiMing, the team shaped the product, documented its rules, built the mobile and backend flows, and prepared the final demonstration at Tongji University.
The public project wiki contains the requirements, use cases and architecture work behind InCampus. It is the best place to look beyond this short introduction.
Project status: an academic alpha/MVP for a guided local demo. Email delivery and push notifications were mocked; production deployment and hardening were outside the course scope. This page is a record of the project, not an invitation to sign up.
